Dimensions:
A superb pair of mid-Victorian cast iron fire surrounds, dating to circa 1870 and retaining a beautifully crisp, well-defined finish. Presented in excellent condition, each surround features a generous arched opening framed with a delicate repeating tongue-and-dart border, adding texture and depth.
The friezes are richly decorated with classical motifs: a run of fruit-and-foliage swags beneath upright acanthus capitals, all sharply cast and characteristic of high-quality Victorian foundry work. The original integral bars remain in place, with elegant finial uprights completing the look.
These surrounds offer wonderful architectural presence and would suit both period and contemporary interiors. Perfect for a townhouse drawing room, bedroom, or as decorative feature pieces.
