Diana Calvert (b. 1941) – “Feeding the Chickens”

A charming oil on board by Diana Calvert, titled Feeding the Chickens. This beautifully observed rural scene captures a tranquil orchard in soft spring light, with hens pecking in the grass and figures tending to them beside a rustic shed. The composition’s delicate handling of colour and detail evokes a nostalgic sense of countryside calm.

Signed lower right and bearing the Royal Academy of Arts, London, Summer Exhibition 1985 label to the verso, confirming its inclusion in this prestigious annual event.
