An attractive early 20th century light oak side table in the Jacobean Revival style, circa 1920, with particularly pleasing colour and figuring to the timber.
The rectangular moulded top sits above two drawers, the upper shallow drawer decorated with a bold carved arcade, over a deeper lower drawer displaying attractive figuring to the oak. Both retain simple turned wooden handles.
The drawers are raised on turned front legs with square rear supports, united by stretchers, and finished with a shaped and carved apron beneath.
A useful and characterful piece of compact furniture, with a lovely warm honey-coloured surface and good decorative detail. Ideal as a side table, lamp table or bedside table in either a traditional or more relaxed country interior.
English, circa 1920.
