A fine quality Edwardian inlaid mahogany writing table by the renowned London makers J. A. S. Shoolbred, dating to circa 1910. The serpentine-front top with inset rich green tooled leather writing surface with gilt and blind tooling, framed by satinwood and boxwood stringing.

The raised superstructure offers two banks of small drawers flanking a central compartment, all finished with delicate line inlay and the original brass knobs. Below, the shaped apron houses three frieze drawers, each with cock-beaded edges and brass swan-neck handles. The whole stands on elegant tapering square legs terminating in original brass castors.

A beautifully proportioned and highly decorative desk, showcasing Shoolbred’s signature craftsmanship, ideal for a study, library or refined home office.
